New Venues in January for Dr. Don’s Double Dose

Happy New Year to you all.
It’s shaping up to be a good year with the addition of some new venues. Later in the year I will have the pleasure of performing with Mic Conway who will be launching a book about his and Jim’s career. I hope to see you at some of the gigs.

Two new venues this month are
Black Penny at 648 Bourke St, Surry Hills on Thursday 15 January from 8pm. Angle Bayside Cafe in Huskisson on Sun 11 January now at 5pm. I’m told people love to dance and have a good time at this cafe. See Jan gigs page for details.

Rock Lilly Room - Star Casino
Those who made it to the four piece Rhythm and Blues band shows last year have been asking when we are returning to Rock Lilly Room at the Star Casino. It’s a funky venue that’s just the right size and has a good dance floor and bar. I’m pleased to say we are back there this month on Thursday 22 January at 8:30pm.

In January
Dr. Don’s Double Dose are also back at Central Hotel Shellharbour City on the 24th, and from February onwards we will be there on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Coming Up
Double Dose will be doing their brand of good time blues and roots music at the, not to be missed,
Australian Blues Festival in Goulburn Fri 6 and Sat 7 Feb.
Check the website for this years great lineup.

Coming up in March
on Saturday the 7th we will be doing two shows at Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival. Our usual Saturday morning spot at Saltwater Cafe and in the evening at the Mercure Hotel in 1 Fern St, Gerringong.

Piano Lessons
For anyone who is wanting to improve their piano playing and learn how to play blues, roots and popular styles, Don is now taking on students for 2015. Beginners to advanced. Lessons are tailored to suit your individual piano playing needs. Call Don on 0425 201 870 for more information.

South Coast Gigs January 2015

In December, the Narooma edition of Cass Eager’s Santa’s Got Soul was a fabulous show that Don was pleased to part of. For those residents and holiday makers on the NSW South Coast, Don heads back to Narooma next weekend with drummer Rob Grosser to entertain the guests at Narooma Quarterdeck, one of the best music and dining venues in the south. There are a limited number of tables, so book now if you would like to see the show on Saturday 10th of January from 6:30 pm. And on Sunday we play the Angle Bayside Cafe in Huskisson now at 5pm. See gigs page for details.
